The grain trade ceased in 1937; the hot commodity now is pizza in all its delicious varieties. But that’s not all—risotto, pasta, meat, and fish dishes are also on the menu. The experience is rounded out with dessert and coffee specialties prepared with plenty of amore.

The RiesKraterMuseum is home to a wealth of history from the Nördlinger Ries, a natural and cultural region in the Southwestern German Uplands. In the restored medieval barn dating back to 1503, scientists pursue their research, and visitors learn about the “dark magic” surrounding this cosmic event.
Spread across six exhibition halls, the asteroid impact from 15 million years ago comes to life—from the formation of the crater to its effects on Earth. During this interactive journey through the event, meteorites, fossils, and a piece of moon rock help visitors understand the forces of nature. The highlight, however, is the 360° camera, which captures the sky above Nördlingen and creates time-lapse videos of the crater at night.
